Try out what we tried or laugh at us trying to remember

The reunion of BJC members who have travelled on various BJC overseas trips - was a 'taste' of some of the different styles studied in different countries, including a session on Muay Thai (Thailand), Iaido (Japan), Systema (Serbia), Kung Fu (China).

After the 'official' part of the day, there was also an opportunity to use newly-learned cutting skills with a live blade on bamboo targets.

Take a look at some of the photos from a fantastic day hosted by Matt Ball, SMAC

Session 2

Shaolin Kung Fu with Branko Polak and Wayne Holley – Branko and Wayne will rack their brains to remember this classic Shaolin form taught to us by the Shaolin Monks at the Shoalin Temple in Henan, China. (45mins)

Session 3

Iaido – Matt Wickham will cover one of the basic drawing and cutting forms we witnessed in Kyoto, Japan. (45 mins)

Session 4

Systema – Matt Ball will be running through some of the movement and hitting drill’s of Systema as taught to us in the Mountains of Serbia. (45mins)

Session 5

Target Cutting – anyone who wishes to try cutting with a Katana (sword) will have the chance.

Each target will cost $4 and you can get about three cuts from each target.

As targets need to be made and soaked overnight, you will need to “order” your targets the week before from Matt. Don’t be concerned if you have not used a sword before it is a lot of fun. (Until everyone has had enough or the blades are blunt)

Remember you need to order your cutting targets 03 59777055 and leave a message or better still email me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
