Passing of Peter Willoughby

Soke Bob and the Bob Jones Martial Arts Family are saddened by the passing of Peter Willoughby, Sensei - Sunbury ZDK.

Peter passed away on Saturday 19th at the very young age of 44.

His loving wife Jeanette and his two sons Brad and Brendan are proud of their husband and father. Both boys trained at the Sunbury club for many years - a reason why Sunbury Zen Do Kai is such a family orientated club.

Peter will be remembered as an excellent instructor with high morals and values and a great respect and loyalty for Zen Do Kai, our club and his especially his family which always came first.

He was awarded the BJMA Victoria Spirit Award at the 2009 Zen Do Kai Victoria Gradings nomintated by Darren Quigley and the Sunbury Zen Do Kai family.

Even in the 4 years that he battled cancer, Peter lived life to the fulliest continuing his martial arts as well as his passion for bikes and cars.

He was to many a great warrior right until the end and will be sadly missed. As the BJMA and Zen Do Kai were such a big part of his life, he has asked to be buried in his Gi.

We offer our condolences to the Willoughby family for this loss and hope that you keep Peter strong in both memory and spirit.
