International Injustice Conference, 8-11 March 2012

As well as being BJMA State Manager of Western Australia, Kyoshi Justin Boylan (8th Degree*) is the Director of the International Justice Conference, an inaugural charity event, deemed a world first by organisers JusticeWA.

The conference will be held at the Perth Convention Centre in March and will bring together forensic experts, lawyers, campaigners as well those who have been the victim of a miscarriage of justice to discuss and highlight the downfalls of the criminal justice system.

Renowned Australian LINDY Chamberlain-Creighton, who was wrongly convicted for the death of her baby daughter Azaria in the Northern Territory three decades ago, is one of a number of high-profile speakers set to speak at the seminar.

Other conference speakers also include Rubin “The Hurricane” Carter, whose life was portrayed in the Hollywood film Hurricane; Betty Anne Waters, who put herself through law school so she could fight to get her brother cleared and whose life was also turned into a film starring Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell; and New Zealander David Bain who was cleared in 2007 after serving 12 years for the murders of his family.

Also expected to speak are some of the world’s leading forensic experts who have worked on a range of high profile cases such as the September 11 attacks, the Bali bombings and the disturbing case of Austrian Joseph Fritzl, who locked up and sexually abused his daughter for more than 20 years.

The International Justice Conference will be held from March 8-11, 2012.

The aim of the conference is to raise money to indentify a miscarriage of justice and to free the wrongfully convicted person.

100% of the money raised goes to the charity - the directors of Justice WA donate their time and consumables and also personally pay for all their tickets to Justice WA events.
